A couple of weeks ago I picked up the Cherry Bomber mech mod. My intention was to use it as a backup when I would forget to charge my Lipo batteries. I wasn't very crazy about the matte finish that the Cherry Bomber had. After speaking with good customer of ours he suggested using Mother polish on it and even went as far as to bring me a container of it(thanks again!). So I figured what the hell lets see how much of a mirror finish can I put on this mod. After a couple of hours of polishing it, it really did shine! Well it wasn't done there....A friend of mine and a regular at Madtown stopped in one day and saw my newly polished Cherry Bomber and said he could make it look like a mirror. I was curious, so I sent it home with him. He brought it back to me yesterday and I'll be damned, it has a mirror finish on it! He wet sanded it for I believe two hours and now I don't even want to use it haha! It looks like it should be on a coffee table if that makes sense.

Ok, lets get down to it. Madtown got the Arctic sub-ohm tank in stock about 2 to 3 weeks ago. I've been using it ever since. I absolutely love this tank! The flavor and cloud production and hell even the air flow this tank has is damn close to dripping! Some people may be skeptical because Horizon Tech is a fairly new/unknown company. But in all honesty they knocked it out of the damn park with this tank on their first run.

The tank comes with two coils a .2 ohm coil that is rated at 30w-100w(my personal favorite) and a .5 ohm coil that is rated at 30w-80w(From what I've seen the .5 ohm coil is probably closer to 50w-60w top end). If you do end up picking one of these tanks up regardless of the coil that you use make sure you prime (soak with juice) the coil thoroughly to avoid burning out the coil before you even have a chance to enjoy it. 

Now the one upgrade I would strongly recommend purchasing with this tank is a delrin drip tip or a drip tip that has air flow holes. We carry them for $4.99 at the store. I've found that the factory drip tip gets fairly warm with this tank. It doesn't get hot enough to the point of burning your lips. But it does get warm enough to annoy if that makes sense.

She drinks the juice!!! But who the hell cares! :D I find that I have to fill it 3-5 times per day. The quality of vape (flavor and cloud production) that I get from it makes it well worth it. Hell, I'd rather fill the tank here and there versus dripping juice on my RDA every 2-4 hits. I might be getting lazy lol. Don't get me wrong dripping will still produce better clouds, if that is what you are after. But as I said before this is a damn close second!

So I want to touch on something that might be sensitive subject. I watched Rip Trippers review on this tank and for the first time I disagreed with him 100%! Up until I saw this video, I really enjoyed watching his reviews. I've learned a lot and was even entertained with how much energy he has. Then I listened to him say the words "pinch of turd" and "taste like sh**" over and over about the flavor the Arctic produced, I disagree. Now I"m not flinging turds at Rip Trippers by any means, I still like watching his reviews I just think the Arctic sub tank is a lot better than he described it. Again that is my personal opinion. I kinda wonder if he got a bad coil/tank? 

At any rate, I would highly recommend this tank! I haven't used an RDA since I picked this up and I'm planning on getting another one.

The pros:

- It will handle builds down to .15 ohm

- You can switch between volts, watts or pulse mode, with the press of a button (triple tap the center button).

- There is a stealth mode option. (press and hold the center button while triple tapping the fire button) This will shut the screen off but still allow you to vape.

- Floating 510 pin, every atty sits flush for me so far, even the Dark Horse. I'm pointing this out because I had the SMY 260 and some of my attys did not sit flush.

- The display shows you everything you need to know. It tells you what wattage, voltage(you are using when you press the fire button) , resistance, battery life in %, puff counter and last but not least how many volts the battery has left. The Variant will shut down before the battery hits 6.1 volts (this is a good thing). It does not display the temp of the unit. So far I haven't really missed that feature.

- The LiPo batteries take about an hour to fully charge!

- Pressing and holding the center button will shut the Variant off or turn in it on. No more tapping the firing button 5 times to shut it off, so you can stick it in your pocket.

- The original Variant had issues with slow battery drain even when the mod wasn't being used. The buttons on the front of the authentic would rattle/seem to be loose. The clone doesn't seem to have those issues.

- The clone is a fraction of the cost. The authentic is made out of titanium which is part of the reason why it is so expensive. The clone is made out of stainless steel. I kind of prefer that to be honest. Although for how small it is, it is kind of heavy. Not a big deal.

The cons:

- Loading the battery takes a little finesse. It is a tight fit but it can be done quickly once you get used to it. Some of our customers have dropped down to 1000 mah batteries, some have dropped down to 800 mah batteries to make it less cramped in there. I tried putting a 1300 mah battery in mine, ten pounds of @#$% five pound bag! I was able to close the battery cover, but not something I would want to deal with on a daily basis.

- The battery compartment and battery cover have sharp edges. You need to be extremely cautious when loading/unloading a battery. Make sure you do not cut into one of the wires and cause a short. One of our regulars took matters into his own hands and sanded down the sides of his battery cover. I gotta say it was a night and day difference. I only recommend you do that if you know what you are doing. If you do not sand it properly it could make matters worse.

- If you are dripping or you are just vaping alot, buy extra batteries. At the very least have one backup battery. I say this because with my SMY 260 and God 180 I could make it damn near all day without changing/charging my batteries. If I'm dripping/vaping heavily using the Variant, I go through two or three battery packs in a day.

- Buy a good charger! The charger that comes with the Variant kit works just fine but you need to keep an eye on your battery while it is charging. As soon as the battery is done charging you will want to disconnect it. This will help prevent damage to the battery. Higher end chargers will automatically shut down once the battery is charged. Do not leave your battery(s) on the charger over night. LiPo batteries are a completely different creature compared to 18650 batteries.

The Variant is not something I would recommend to someone new to vaping. However it really is a fantastic mod and it is built really well, minus the sharp edges on the battery cover and compartment. If you are handy or know someone that is, that issue is easily fixed if the edges bother you. If you are dead set on getting the Variant make sure you educate yourself on LiPo batteries, even if you are a veteran vaper who uses primarily 18650/26650 batteries. Now with that being said if you are familiar with RC cars/trucks you probably already know what I'm talking about.

Bottom line, I absolutely love this mod!!! Oh, before I forget. I've been using the Mutilator RDA lately. I have to say it is so much better than the Dark Horse. But I'll talk about that another time.

Now for the annoying part. I got halfway through my first tank and bam! It started leaking juice from the coil down through the air flow adjustment. Now, I run a higher VG mix in my juice so I know it couldn't possibly be a juice issue. I'm hoping the RBA that comes with this solves that problem. I spoke with a few other people who own this tank, some have had the leaking issue and some haven't.

I think Kanger did a good job with this tank. Minus the leaking issue. For now I'm staying with my Aspire Atlantis sub ohm with the 7 ml extension.

Once I have a chance/time to mess with the RBA on the Kanger sub tank I will post an update.

Strawberry Custard: I was really hoping Dino would come up with something like this, as I really enjoy Strawberry Blonde by CRFT but with my unique shipping status it can be hard to get ahold of at a reasonable price. THIS.....answers the mail. The strawberry is up front but not overpowering, with the custard note coming on the exhale and throat hit. It's smooth, sweet, and creamy, and is an instant classic in the dessert vape category.

Cinnamon Tease: Oh man. I used to loooooooove me some Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal back in the day when my metabolism allowed for such gluttony, and this brings me back to those wonderful skinny days. The flavor profile is dead-on: you get the churro-esque fried dough quality with the cinnamon/sugar dusting on top, and - it might be wishful nostalgia - but I think I get a slight milk note on the exhale like I'm on the last few bites about to drink that delicious, decadent, cinnamon/sweet milk. Love it. LOVE IT.

Cola: Once again Dino>CRFT. They (CRFT) have a Lime Cola flavor I like because I love cola, and they're the first company I found that captured the flavor profile and "fizziness" even close to reality. Dino, of course, went one better and made a pitch-perfect glass of <insert brand name cola here> in vapor form. I bought this in the 30ml bottle on faith, and I'm not disappointed. This one will be in heavy "walking around town" rotation. Instant classic.

Strawberry Short Cake: Because why not make yet another perfect strawberry dessert flavor - one cannot have too many! The cake notes in this one are spookily good; it's not a generic "pastry" or "dough" flavor, it's shortcake. Exactly shortcake. The strawberry and cream notes are perfectly balanced, as if Dino was serving up a homemade shortcake, perfectly ripe strawberries, and homemade cream in the perfect proportion. Like the Cola flavor, I bought this one in 30mL size on faith and, like the Cola, I'm glad I did. This one will be ever-ready to be loaded in a dripper or Kayfun and enjoyed with an espresso after a good meal while my dining companions eat unhealthy "real" desserts loaded with sugar and preservatives and other non-beach-body-enhancing additives. Another instant classic.

I have to say it - with every round of new liquids he comes out with, it seems like Dino's hand is growing ever-surer with the flavor mixes and proportions. He's becoming a wizard when it comes to e-liquid mixology, and I find myself torn. The epicurean in me eagerly awaits every new delight, while the practical side of me groans inwardly at the thought of how much I *want* to spend on his website.

The new features that the 260 has that the God 180 was missing are as follows:

- You do not need to shut the 260 off every time you want to put it in your coat pocket for example. After a specified amount of time (user defined) the 260 will auto lock itself,or the 260 can be locked/unlocked by pressing the + and - buttons on the front simultaneously. I have a love hate relationship with this feature. I like the fact that I can lock and unlock the buttons on it. I forget that it goes to sleep on its own sometimes (grrrr). I'm so used to the God 180 that I end up hitting the fire button sometimes and nothing happens because I didn't unlock the mod. I'll get used to it and it isn't a deal breaker to be honest.

- The 260 can handle a build at .3 ohms running 260 watts! The God 180 could only go down to a .5 ohm build. Now what makes me a little happier about the 260 is that I can pull off a .25 ohm build if I want to (not recommended). I generally set my coils up at .3 or .4 ohms and I've enjoyed the vape that I get from it. You get a little more flexibility from the 260 versus the God 180, which is nice.

- The 260 comes with a USB charging port... Yep you can charge your three 18650 batteries via your USB cord and wall charger, but it will take longer than normal to charge them. If you already have a standard charger for your 18650's skip the USB charging.

-The 260 comes with a magnetic back plate (battery cover) I think this is pretty cool. Just slide it off pull your batteries out, charge them over night. Drop them in the next morning and away you go. It is kind of nice not having to mess around with a screw driver and tiny screws if you are running late for work as an example. I still use the screws though.

Overall, I think the 260 is a far better unit than the God 180. The 260 is just a hair bigger than the God 180, but it is sleek and smooth looking. You have a little more flexibility with your builds, and you certainly have more power at your disposal should you want/need it. I like the carbon fiber back plate also. I kind of wish SMY would have done the same thing with the front of the mod, but oh well. A big thing that I wish SMY would have incorporated with the 260 is the built in beauty ring that the God 180 comes with. The 260 has one but it is small and once raised it doesn't really fit your traditional RDA's that have longer threads. It will provide stability for them, but aesthetically it might be off.

I'm currently using a Mutation X V2 Clone on my 260 box and I'm enjoying it! The cloud production is nice and the flavor isn't half bad either. I run between 80 and 100 watts at .4 ohms and have zero complaints.

Next week, I'll be talking about the Kanger Sub Tank! I'm looking forward to testing this bad boy out. Also there will be some new flavors joining the Mad Town line up, stay tuned!!

Since my last blog a couple of weeks ago, I've been using the Tug Boat V2 RDA a lot. I didn't think I would enjoy it as much as I do! Using 22 awg wire my dual coil build came out to be .18 ohms. I wicked it with Japanese cotton and away I went. Now with that low of a build I couldn't use my God 180 mod. So I broke out one of my mech mods and gave it a spin. I was a little concerned about the vape being to hot, but to my surprise the Tug Boat kicked out the perfect vape for me. The flavor/cloud production in my opinion came damn close to matching the Dark Horse RDA.

The Tug Boat does not have the air flow adjustments that the Dark Horse has. It only has the option for single or dual coil builds and then single or dual airflow respectively. Not a deal breaker for me though, I really like this RDA. It is worth noting that the deck or juice well on the Tug Boat is fairly deep. I would say the Tug Boat is worth adding to your collection, even if you are a die hard Dark Horse fan.

I'm going to keep it short and sweet this week. Next week, I will be sharing my thoughts on the SMY God 260 mod as well as another RDA! It is finally here and in stock!

First glance, the Atlantis comes with two proprietary coils (0.5 ohms!) and two glass tanks.(if you break one you have a backup), that made it easier to swallow the cost. I was still arguing for the Orchid though, because I could build my coils on the Orchid and tailor it to my liking. Boy, was I wrong!

The Atlantis is just better and here is why:

1. I've used it for three weeks straight now as my everyday "go to" I haven't had a single issue with leaking, which is huge for me while I'm at work.

2. @ 30 watts (50 watts gave me a dry hit using a max VG blend juice) I've been able to get 2,500+ puffs out of the first coil and I'm still trying to burn the first coil out.

3. The flavor/cloud production is amazing! It can rival some drippers.

4. The Atlantis has four airflow adjustments. The Orchid has zero airflow adjustments! (I leave mine wide open and love it but that is just personal preference)

The vapor and flavor that the Atlantis puts out is second to none when it comes to "tanks" I absolutely love mine! I was a little taken back at the cost of the coils at first, but if all I have to spend is $4.20 per coil and that coil will last me three or four weeks, then in my mind I'm money ahead. For those of you who want to upgrade from a Kanger tank and want more flavor and/or better clouds, but do not want to spend the time building your own coils. The Atlantis is the way to go!! I just want to say make sure your mod can handle the Atlantis coil (sub ohm) before you buy it.

For those of you who build your own coils/drip/use a Kayfun or Russian or even an Orchid, I would still recommend picking up the Aspire Atlantis!

Now as far as performance is concerned. I built a dual coil setup running right around .3 ohms with 26 awg wire, using Japanese cotton. The cloud production was ok. The flavor wasn't that great. The Little Boy produces a very airy vape with the air flow wide open. More so than say the Dark Horse RDA with its air flow wide open. So back to the drawing board. I built another dual coil setup using 22 awg wire @ .18 ohms, using Japanese cotton. The cloud production improved and the flavor improved a little bit. I still left the air flow wide open for the second setup as well. Keep in mind for both of these tests I used Donut Run with max VG. Still a little disappointed with the flavor the Little Boy put out, I decided to try using a stronger flavor to see if that would make any difference. I broke out some Black Ice max VG and gave it a spin and got the same result. So I cut the airflow down to about half and went back to the max VG Donut Run. The flavor improved again but only a little bit. However I was able to chuck some really nice clouds.

For the price point of the Little Boy RDA you can't go wrong. At $19.99 with the accessories it was worth seeing what it could do. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to start dripping/cloud chasing, but isn't sure if they can handle the hit that a Dark Horse RDA can produce

One last thing. Thursday, Friday and Saturday Mad Town Vapor is having a 20% off sale!!!! Everything in store and online is 20% off!!! (The store is closed Thursday for Thanksgiving).

For how small the EGrip is, one might think that the cloud production and flavor wouldn't be that great....Wrong! Even on the second to lowest setting the flavor is really impressive! Now do not get the wrong idea, you won't be entering in any cloud chasing contests with the EGrip. But compared to your traditional pen style ecig you will notice a better more dense vape with this mod. For those of you who do not like the larger mods that stand out in a crowd, or maybe you want something sturdy that you can just toss in your purse or pocket, I would highly recommend the EGrip.

There are a couple of things to keep in mind with the EGrip. First, it uses the EGrip CS coil (1.5 ohms). So your Kanger coils will not work. Second, and this is just my personal opinion, remove the airflow control screw. It will give you better airflow and less of that drinking a milkshake feeling.

Ok back to the power that this little mod puts out. I primarily used the lower to medium settings and found that I really liked the vape/flavor that I would get from it. But to put it through its test I cranked it up to 20w. Using Banana Nut Bread @ a 50/50 mix with 6 nic, I got a burnt coil taste(dry hit) from it each time...I'll be honest, you do not need to use the 20w setting on the EGrip. The lower to medium settings work really well and again the flavor is just awesome! I will be posting an update on the dry hit issue once I fill the EGrip with a different juice blend.

Overall I like the EGrip and I like the large 3.6ml pyrex tank that is built into the unit. I think I would put a shorter drip tip on it though (you can replace the drip tip). But that just boils down to personal preference. My girlfriend has taken the EGrip and made it her own. She really likes the fact that the flavor is a night and day difference from her pen style ecig. She also likes how small it is.

I want to thank everyone that participated in the give away. Make sure you all check back for future give a ways :)

My current build on the Orchid V3 clone is a .43 ohm dual coil build with a cotton wick. I can't push a ton of power through the Orchid with this setup (17 to 20 watts). But as I already said the Orchid clone is better than my Russian 91 or Kayfun clone, as far as flavor and air flow/vapor production is concerned. My Orchid V4 build came out to be a .8 ohm dual coil setup. I used rayon for my wick. Instead of having it just rest on the top deck. I made it so the rayon is sitting in the juice channels (this was recommended to me). I think I'll stick with the cotton resting on the top deck.... Just my personal preference.

Although I'm not cloud chasing with this clone, it keeps me satisfied. It produces great flavor and medium clouds. It's my happy medium between being stuck with a regular tank or having to wrestle with a drip style RDA while I'm at work.

For you beginners out there who are curious about upgrading from a standard tank, but might be a little nervous about making the switch, the Orchid clone is the perfect stepping stone! Yes, you will need to learn how to build coils. But really you will save money in the long run and your vape experience will be a night and day difference! The deck has two positive post holes (like the Plume Veil) which in my opinion makes it incredibly easy to get your coils just right.

If you didn't already know, Madtown teaches a coil building class every Thursday night (for free). If you want to learn how to build them or just want to get some pointers, stop on down.

1. Overtime Protect: Here you can set in seconds how long the God will fire for before it shuts itself down. The following values are factory defaults and can be adjusted. 5w - 29w, 10 seconds, 30w - 79w is 7 seconds and 80w - 180w is 5 seconds.

2. Screen Setting: Pretty basic, this is your screen saver. The screen will stay on for 1 minute (factory default) after there is no activity. This can be adjusted, but you can only increase the time that the screen will stay on. 1 minute is the lowest setting.

3. Vapor Setting: Here we have two options. Manual mode and auto mode. Manual mode speaks for itself. You hit the fire button and vape as long as your overtime protect settings will let you. Auto mode has a sub menu. Here you can set how long the God mod will auto fire (in seconds) with a single push of the fire button. You can also set an auto pause before it will let you take another puff.

4. Puff Info: This one tells you how many puffs you have accumulated. The time that you have spent using the God mod and the option to reset your puff counter. The puff counter and the time resets when you change/charge your batteries.

5. Power Setting: There are two options to choose from; Normal mode and Super mode. Super mode produces a warning that you need to run 25amp or higher batteries when selected. So if you want to use the 81w - 180w function you will need to make sure your batteries are again at least 25amp or higher.

6. Device: Series number and firmware version are listed. Nothing to see here.

Final thoughts, I've been using the Orchid V3 and the Dark Horse RDA on my God mod and I must say this thing kicks out enough power to toss some serious clouds with the Dark Horse. I chew through the juice with the Orchid V3 but it is a great vape! All in all if you want a mod that you can have complete control over and weighs less than a 26650 mech mod (with a battery) this is the route to go! I'm running @ 60 watts with a .68 ohm build on the Dark Horse and I love it!

I almost forgot to mention the min/max resistance for the God 180 is .5 ohms to 4 ohms. The min/max voltage is 1.5v to 10.5v and the min/max power is 5w to 180w.

Well I did it again, I sold off a couple of my setups last week and picked up the Skeleton Key mod/clone. This thing is simple, yet very sleek in design. For starters, I love the locking ring for the firing button. One click in either direction will lock or unlock the firing button. Next I want to point out that the firing button feels like it has magnets controlling it even though its spring controlled. I'm very pleased with this mod and would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a solid mech mod.

I also picked up the Dark Horse RDA to go with my Skeleton Key mod. This thing can chuck some serious clouds! The drip tip is made out of delrin which helps keep the heat down. There are plenty of air control options on this RDA, 16 in all I believe. Your positive and negative posts have larger than normal post holes which is a bonus for the cloud chasers out there. I've built my coils @ .33 ohms and I'm very pleased with the vape I get from it. All in all the Dark Horse and the Skeleton Key mod has become my daily setup.  

For you copper mech mod users out there. Are you noticing that over time your mod/rda is starting to get a black tint to it? If you are concerned about using a copper cleanser on your equipment and are wondering about another alternative. Have no fear ketchup is here! This is not a joke. To clean your setup all you need some paper towel, and a little bit of ketchup. Put a small amount of ketchup on a piece of paper towel and then smear the ketchup on your copper mod/rda thoroughly(It sounds kinda gross I know). The next step, take another piece of paper towel and whipe off the excess ketchup. Finally rinse your mod or rda under some hot water. It will look good as new in no time. I just want to put a little disclaimer out there on this.....Please make sure you remove your battery from your mod before trying this. :)

Another new juice is called Donut Run. It really tastes like a glazed donut and after a great customer came into the store and said he added a little raspberry to it, out came the jelly donut. You can order the donut run juice with or without the jelly. This juice is great with your morning coffee.

Berry Ice Cream is a new juice we added to the mix, which consists of strawberry, blueberry, and cream it is refreshing and berry good.

We didn’t realize so many of our customers liked snickerdoodle cookies so we got to work on the juice and it came out really good and tastes just like the cookie. The FDA's New Ruling Could Be Good News For The E-cigarette Industry

Electronic Cigarettes or E-cigs, have been one of the most disruptive technologies to hit the tobacco sector in recent years. The market for them has grown rapidly, and many smokers are now switching to the e-cig over traditional, more harmful cigarettes.

Unsurprisingly, this rise to fame within the smoking community has sent tobacco players such as Altria Group (NYSE: MO), Reynolds America (NYSE: RAI), and Lorillard (NYSE: LO) into a sort of e-cig arms race.

However, one of the industry's major concerns has been the threat of regulation by the FDA. Luckily, the FDA has recently come out and revealed that it will be making a move on the industry, but initial indications imply that impending regulation could be a good thing.

The FDA's Plan - The FDA has purposed to extend it's reach over the tobacco industry to include the $3 billion e-cig market. The FDA wants rules introduced that will ban sales to minors, free samples, and require nicotine addiction warnings.

The FDA is making this move as it has been claimed the use of bright colors, TV advertisements, and music festival sponsorships have been designed to attract youth, whose use of e-cigs doubled their use of e-cigs during 2012 from the years before. Data from 2013 is not yet available.

Mitch Zeller, director of the FDA's center for Tobacco products, commented on the proposal: For the first time there will be a science-based, independent regulatory agency providing gatekeeping.

However, it would appear that many industry participants are excited about the FDA's involvement in the market.

E-cigs main target market is ex-smokers, many of whom will be used to the existing limitations placed on traditional cigarettes. The new regulations for e-cigs will be no different.

What’s more, e-cig companies actually appear to be upbeat about the new regulation. For example, the president of Vapor Corp commented: I didn't see anything in the proposal that would appear to prohibit growth...The things that have come out are things that are going to enhance public opinion of the product and continue to legitimize us and there's going to be a good comfort level now that the FDA has stepped in.

Additionally, Lorillard (the third largest tobacco company in the United States and owner of Blue e-cigs, the leading U.S. electronic cigarette company) issued a press release on the decision applauding the FDA's decision to step in and regulate the industry.

It would seem as if the FDA's move to introduce some regulations for e-cigs is welcome by all. It is generally considered that FDA involvement will reduce consumer concerns over the safety of the product.

This is great news for all e-cig companies, but Altria and Reynolds American in particular stand to benefit.

National rollout..... Both Reynolds and Altria are planning national rollouts of their e-cig products during the next few months. It is likely that these that these rollouts, combined with the free publicity from the FDA's announcement, will add a kick to sales.

While Lorillard has been chasing market share during the past year, both Reynolds American and Altria have been testing their products in single states. This has allowed them to identify consumers' needs and wants before committing themselves to National rollouts. In Particular, Reynolds has developed the VUSE digital vapor cigarette which it has rolled out in Colorado, and VUSE has quickly become e-cig product of choice.

This initial success should be extremely worrying for Lorillard. VUSE appears to have been very successful. If it can replicate the success seen in Colorado, when Reynolds rolls it out nationally later this year, Lorillard’s first-mover advantage could be under threat.

What's more, industry giant Altria will also begin the national rollout of its e-cig product during the second quarter of this year. Just like the product Reynolds, its initial sales within the trial states have been impressive.

Keeping Quiet: Altria's e-cig offering comes in the form of the MarkTen brand, which the company rolled out in the middle of last year. Until recently, Altria has kept quiet about its initial sales, which implies less than -impressive results. However, Altria's management broke its silence during the fourth quarter conference call to reveal that the products initial sales have exceeded expectations.

Additionally, within just seven weeks, Mark Ten achieved brand leadership by taking a market share of 48% within the trial market. Altria intends to leverage lessons learned from its rollout when it commences national distribution during the second quarter of this year. Altria's existing dominance in the traditional cigarette market will also allow the company to gain distribution and customer awareness faster than its peers.

Altria also recently acquired Green Smoke, an e-vapor business, to boost its e-cig offering. Green Smoke has been manufacturing and marketing high-quality premium products since 2009, so it knows the market well. The acquisition will booster Altria's already-strong e-cig development and sales team, and will also expand Altria's product portfolio to address adult smokers' and vapers' different product preferences.

Foolish Summary: This is yet another development in the still young e-cig market. It would appear that this move by the FDA will only strengthen e-cig awareness and customer understanding of the product. This is great news for Reynolds and Altria, at a time when both companies are undertaking national rollouts of their e-cig products.

All in all Reynolds and Altria stand to benefit from this FDA ruling. So does a wider e-cig industry, although Reynolds and Altria are in the best position to profit.

A large study in England has found that smokers trying to quit were substantially more likely to succeed if they used electronic cigarettes than over-the -counter therapies such as nicotine patches or gum. These results offered encouraging but not definitive evidence in the contentious debate about the risks and benefits of these increasingly popular smoking devices.

Researchers interviewed almost 6,000 smokers who had tried to quit on their own without counseling from a health professional. About a fifth of those who said they were using e-cigarettes had stopped smoking at the time of the survey, compared with about a tenth of people who had used patches and gum.

"This will not settle the e-cigarette issue by any means, “said Thomas J. Glynn, a researcher at the American Cancer Society, who was not a part of the study, "but it is further evidence that, in a real-world context, e-cigarettes can be useful, although not revolutionary, tool in helping some smokers to stop."

The use of e-cigarettes has risen rapidly across Europe and the United States, and regulators are scrambling to figure out how to respond to the absence of hard evidence about their effects. The debate is particularly fierce in the United States, where some experts say the devices could lure children to start smoking, while others contend that they are the best hope in generations to get smokers to switch to something less dangerous than traditional cigarettes.

About 42 million Americans smoke, and some 480,000 people die every year from smoking-related illnesses, one of the United States' leading causes of preventable death. The central question is whether e-cigarettes will cause ranks of smokers to shrink or swell.

So far, the evidence is too thin to provide a convincing answer. The food and drug administration has commissioned a broad study, but it's results will not be known for years. A clinical trial in New Zealand, which many researchers regard as the most reliable study to date, found that people given e-cigarettes had only a slightly better quit rate than those with patches. While the long-term health effects of e-cigarettes are unknown, many health experts believe that the concentrations of toxins in the vapor are much lower than cigarette smoke.

The English study was not a clinical trial, the gold standard of scientific research, in which participants would have been randomly assigned to different groups: for example, one that used e-cigarettes to quit and another that used nicotine replacement therapies. But authors of the study said that they controlled for many factors, including social class, age, level of nicotine dependence and time since the attempt to quit first started. They also said the study, one of the largest to date, offered valuable insights into the real world experiences of smokers.

Prof. Robert West, director of tobacco studies at University College London and senior author of the study, which is to be published Wednesday in the journal Addiction, said that clinical trials could not answer the question most people have about whether e-cigarette help smokers quit because the devices are changing so fast that they become obsolete before an experiment ends. What is more. he said , people who wanted e-cigarettes and found themselves put in a group that used, say, the patch, would just drop out.

“The medical model is great for cancer drugs, but it doesn't really work for this situation because there's nothing to stop participants in the patches group from just going out an buying an e-cigarette, “professor West said.

He said the database used for the study was financed by Cancer Research UK, a nonprofit group; England's Department of Health; and several large drug companies that make nicotine replacement therapy, including Pfizer, Glaxo Smith Kline and Johnson & Johnson.

Professor West, an e-cigarette optimist, said that solid epidemiological evidence would not be available for at least several decades, while the need for policy decisions is now.

He calculated that more than 5,000 lives could be saved for every million smokers who switched to e-cigarettes, even if the devices carried significant health risks and people used them indefinitely after quitting real cigarettes.

Potentially millions of lives are at stake, and our job is to help policy makers to protect those lives, "he said in an editorial that accompanied the study.

The standard recommended practice for helping people quit is a prescribed medicine such as Chantix or a combination of nicotine patch and gum together with counseling from a trained professional. But even in England, where these options are widely advertised and nearly free, the majority of smokers rely on willpower or nicotine products bought from a store and success rates are low. The study found that the rate at which smokers quit by using e-cigarettes was similar to that for people who used prescribed nicotine therapy with brief counseling.

Stanton A. Glantz, a professor of medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, said the study's limitation was that it tried to measure the effect of e-cigarette use only among smokers who were trying hard to quit, not all smokers.

Professor West responded that the study's goal was to find out whether e-cigarettes helped people who were trying to stop smoking. But he said data still being analyzed may provide clues to the broader effects on smokers generally.

Fluffy pineapple- When this was first made my thought was that it sounded weird. After I tried it I was surprised at how really good it is with a marshmallow taste blended with fresh pineapple. I find this juice very light and refreshing.

Strawberry mango- This is a new favorite of mine. You will get the taste of fresh strawberries with splash of mango. This would really make a great smoothie. Mangos are in season now and I have been buying them a lot. This e-juice makes me want to fire up the blender and make a strawberry-mango margarita.

Mandarin pineapple- Whenever I hear mandarin orange I think of Chinese food, like the mandarin orange chicken which I love. These little oranges pack a punch and are in harmony with fresh pineapple. This juice has a clean fresh taste. This might go really good with Chinese take-out.

PB banana- I think just about everyone likes peanut butter and banana. This flavor blends beautifully together not an over-whelming taste of the peanut butter. I think this would be good to vape on in between meals.

MTV Candy apple- This e-juice taste just like the red candy apples with the crunchy shell that you buy at the county fairs. I just love it so much. The recipe that I have for homemade candy apples calls for those little red hot cinnamon candy’s but I think this is something new and different. The original candy apple taste just like these. Very good!

Butter Nutz- Think of smooth butterscotch with a hint of hazelnuts. This is a great e-juice, very calm and soothing, like something you would want with your morning coffee or tea. For those who asked for butterscotch this will satisfy your craving.

Mother's Day is a holiday honoring motherhood that is observed in different forms throughout the world. The American incarnation of Mother's Day was created by Anna Jarvis in 1908 and became an official U. S. holiday in 1914. Jarvis would later denounce the holiday's commercialization and spent the later part of her life trying to remove it from the calendar. While dates and celebrations vary, Mother's Day most commonly falls on the second Sunday in May and traditionally involves presenting mothers with flowers, cards and other gifts.

Celebrations of mothers and motherhood can be traced back to the ancient Greeks and Romans, who held festivals in honor of the mother goddesses Rhea and Cybele, but the clearest modern precedent for Mother's Day is the early Christian festival known as "mothering Sunday". Once a major tradition in the United Kingdom and parts of Europe this celebration fell on the fourth Sunday in lent and was originally seen as a time when the faithful would return to their "mother church" - the main church in the vicinity of their home - for a special service. Over time the Mothering Sunday tradition shifted into a more secular holiday, and children would present their mothers with flowers and other tokens of appreciation. This custom eventually faded in popularity before merging with the American Mother's Day in the 1930's and 1940's.

My mother and I wanted to go shoe shopping at the mall so we decided to meet at a specific time in our usual meeting place. I got there early (my mother was always late) and decided to look at a couple of shoe stores while I waited. I found the perfect shoes right away and purchased them. My mother arrived at the mall and I wasn't back at the meeting spot yet so she decided to look at some shoes. We finally met up with each other and I was excited to show my mom the shoes I bought. She looked at the shoes and started laughing and then she opened the box of shoes she bought and they were the same shoes, same color and SAME SIZE! We laughed and agreed that we both shared the same likes and dislikes often. I will always have that memory; she is with our heavenly father now and is missed every day.

Cinco de Mayo: A New American holiday. Long misunderstood, Cinco de Mayo is a holiday that is increasingly American. Yes, that’s right. The history of this holiday is in Mexico, but the future of this holiday is north of the border.

The anniversary of the "Battle of Puebla" on May 5, 1862 commemorates the pride and valor of the Mexican people in response to aggression of a better - equipped and much larger force from France led by Napoleon the third. Under the leadership of General Inacio Zaragoza Sequin who served under Mexico's only fully indigenous President, Benito Juarez, the Mexican army defeated a "superior" enemy, who was demanding unreasonable territorial occupation and influence.

Cinco de Mayo is not widely celebrated in Mexico, yet during the post-civil rights era in Southwestern United States, high school and college students of Mexican origin (sometimes referred to as Chicanos") sought and found a source of pride in their heritage offend feeling unwelcome in the US and in Mexico. Some confuse the holiday with Mexico independence from Spain- which was secured on the 16th of September 1810 and is celebrated by Mexican citizens living in Mexico. Mexicans North of the boarder, Mexican Americans feel little need to celebrate independence from Spain and often are ambivalent in their patriotism towards Mexico. In fact, most US residents of Mexican origin fled their home country in search of a lifestyle that their home country could not make available to them. Despite the history of racism and unequal treatment in the U.S., America is much more of a meritocracy than Mexico has ever been. Mexican migrants (legal and illegal) struggle for the American dream and frequently find it, or at the very least find gainful employment to provide for their families and hope for the long-term well-being of their loved ones. So on May 5th, I suggest that you join us in celebrating a unique American holiday where you can enjoy the fine food, drink, music and courage of which Mexican Americans are so proud. iA tu Salu`d !

The tar and ash from cigarette smoke also causes residue and plague to accumulate on the surface of your teeth and in your mouths crevices, which causes tooth discoloration and calculus build-up in the long term. This is why a dentist can spot a smoker immediately.

If the yellow teeth stains don't give a smoker away, then the bad breath will. Cigarette smoke is laden with chemicals which are not only carcinogenic, but also stick to the lining of the mouth and emit a putrid odor. This can lead to halitosis, or chronic bad breath, which is the third most frequent reason people seek out dental care, behind tooth decay and gum disease.

E-smoking is an obvious choice for a long list of reasons, one of which being health and look of your teeth. WHY? 1) No yellow teeth. The tar released from cigarettes is the "smoking gun" behind tooth yellowing and discoloration. Fortunately e- cigs emit no tar whatsoever. 2) No odor, e-smoking leaves behind no smoke or lingering odor. People who use e-cigs don't have to be ashamed of opening their mouth because of that infamous "smokers breath". 3) No combustion- cigarettes deliver nicotine through the process of combustion, or by burning tobacco. This releases harmful and irritating smoke. E- Cigs on the other hand, vaporize liquid nicotine which is exhaled as harmless water vapor.

I am having a Easter brunch and I was trying to decide what to serve and my mind wandered to snacks that I could put out that everyone could nibble on. I have an excellent caramel corn recipe and I decided to make a batch. While the caramel was cooking on the stove I could smell the brown sugar and butter fill the kitchen, a light bulb went off and I thought caramel corn would be a great e-juice and before long I was vaping this great mellow taste of caramel and popcorn. I think this new juice came out really well even without steeping. Just think, you can vape all day with this juice and not gain a single pound.

E-cigarettes : A $1.5 billion industry braces for FDA regulation.

The first time J Andries Verleur tried an e-cigarette in 2008, he burned his lip and accidently inhaled the nicotine fluid. "It was one of the worst products I ever tried," he recalls," but the idea was amazing."

Verleur, a heavy smoker, living in the Prague and happened to spot the strange new product in a Vietnamese grocery store. The crude early version obviously didn't work very well, but Verleur, a serial entrepreneur, immediately realized that if it did work, I could upend the tobacco industry. That was worth looking into; Cigarettes are a global business that generates more than half a trillion dollars every year, according to data from Euro monitor International.

The effects of inhaling nicotine vapor are not totally understood, but there is no EVIDENCE to date that it causes cancer. Experts and logic seem to agree that it's a lot better than setting chopped-up tobacco leaves on fire and inhaling the combustion byproducts, some of which are definitely carcinogenic. Because cancer is the main drawback of smoking for a lot of people, the delivery of nicotine without lighting a cigarette is very attractive. And because it produces a wispy vapor instead of acrid smoke, an e- cigarette lets you bring your smoking back indoors, where lighting up in an enclosed space is no longer socially or legally , acceptable.

Verleur saw right away that if e-cigarettes could be made as convenient and satisfying as a pack of smokes, he'd make a killing. He enlisted the help of his brother, an engineer working for Agilent Technologies (A) spinoff; booked a trip to China, and began meeting with manufacturers. In 2009 he formed his company. V2cigs, with four employees working out of an apartment. Five years later, V2cigs has six manufacturing facilities in Shenzhen, China, a Miami headquarters, 250 employees , and 5 million customers worldwide. Verleur says that more than a million of those are in the Us. Where Bloomberg Industries projects total e-cigarette sales could reach $1.5 billion this year. 

New Jersey's Gov. Chris Christie proposed a higher e-cig tax in February. The governor projected it could raise $35 million in revenue annually. (Always about the money)

Other states, including Massachusetts and Hawaii, have tried and failed to pass legislation taxing e-cigs. Minnesota is currently the only state in the country that taxes electronic cigarettes at the same rate as tobacco products.

Vapors are making a lot of noise about the tax, but there was not much of an uproar when New Jersey became the first state in the country to ban vaping indoors four years ago.

The state does allow vaping at electronic cigarette stores, in licensed cigar bars and designated casino smoking areas. If a person vapes in an office, restaurant, or bar they will be fined $250 for the first offense

$500 for a second and $1000 for a third. (WOW) E -cigarettes may be sampled in a tobacco retail establishment because you can sample in these locations

Daniel Emmer, a spokesman for the New Jersey Dept. of Health has stated local health agencies verify whether establishments qualify as a tobacco establishment.

Three other states, Utah, North Dakota, and Arkansas, have followed New Jersey's lead and banned vaping indoors. New York City enacted a ban last December, which prompted

a lawsuit by a smokers advocacy group called Citizens Lobbying Against Smoker Harassment.

At the federal level, the FDA is still in the process of proposing rules for the regulation of e-cigarettes.

The FDA intends to propose a regulation that would extend the agency's tobacco product authorities which only apply to cigarettes, cigarette tobacco, roll-your-own tobacco, smokeless tobacco and to other categories of tobacco products that meet the statutory definition of a tobacco product a FDA spokeswoman said. Their concern is the availability to children who are on the internet and have money. They claim that if they buy multi-flavored e-cigs at age 10, they are smoking these things and becoming dependent on nicotine. By the time the child gets older, reaches the age of 18 they will switch over to regular cigarettes to continue the nicotine habit. (This doesn't make sense to me at all. In 8 yrs. from now who could afford cigarettes?)

10% to 14% of the 44 million tobacco user’s in 2013 of the US. (I wonder what the percentages are so far for 2014.)

Where can travelers smoke E-cigarettes is still not clear? Bill Mosley , a spokesman for the Dept. Of Transportation says the currant ban on smoking on planes applies to E- cigarettes, though it does not explicitly say so. (What does that mean?) To clear up the confusion, in September 2011, the department proposed an amendment to explicitly ban E-cigarettes. The final rule was expected by the end of 2013. (Haven’t heard the final rule yet) Passengers who fail to comply with the no smoking ban can currently be fined between $1,100 and $11,000 by the federal aviation administration. (Pretty broad range)

Airports and hotels are generally on their own when deciding how to deal with E-cigarettes. Hotels in recent years have been more aggressive in getting rid of smoking rooms and public spaces on their properties. Wyndham Hotel Group, for example, has not made any changes to smoking polices but will continue to monitor the trend as it emerges.

After I quit smoking cigarettes and started vaping E-cigarettes, I wouldn't want to stay in a tobacco smoking hotel room.

What would a hotel room that allowed E- cigarettes smell like? Bubble gum, horchata, or peppermint? I think a lot of the air fresheners now days have fruity, and food like smells of fresh baked cookies and pastries. I really don't think any of the vapors from E-cigarettes would offend anyone as much as strong perfume and some cleaning products.

I think that if people were allowed to use their e-cigarettes on planes for long flights it would eliminate agitated customers. Just recently an executive of a large company slapped a crying child, he also had a few to many cocktails as well. He lost his job now (good) and the mother of the child is suing him.

I know that you cannot smoke cigarettes on any of the beaches in California, which I can see because of the cigarette butts, but what about e-cigarettes? I don't see any reason why not. I had a customer in California that got pulled over for holding his hand out the window with a cigarette in it. The LE officer asked him to open his ashtray, which he complied and it was clean and held a bunch of coins. The officer told him that had he seen a dirty ashtray he would have given him only a warning instead of a ticket. Everybody knows how dangerous it is in CA, to throw a lit cigarette out the window. I would think e-cigarettes would be a welcome change for CA.

Where do they allow e-cigarettes in your neck of the woods? How do they go about enforcing a ban on e-cigarettes? I can't see them giving a ticket for vaping when they don't have any yet. 

CEO Tony Elward came up with the name when he was going through a nasty divorce at the time and the vodka was named after his ex-wife.

Two new flavors introduced in the Ivannabitch line are cherry, vanilla and Lemon. This is the first of its kind and the liquor launches in 33 states by the end of 2013.

The vodka is created in Holland, and is distilled 5 times, and triple filtered over active charcoal.

The vodka has a price point between $10.00 and $20.00 depending on the size of the bottle. The idea for the tobacco taste vodka came from Elward, feeling frustrated and feeling like

a second class citizen when he smoked (he started again after 10yrs of abstinence). Elward claims that if you smoke now you have to go outside. “You don't want to leave your friends but you

have a craving ". "Now you have a vodka that can help that".

No one want’s peach flavored vodka anymore as there are 20 to 30 of them out there.

This is not the first time a vodka has tried as novelty to entice young drinkers. Elward thinks that tobacco has stronger staying power than novelty flavors like bacon vodka, popcorn flavored, or cupcake flavored vodka.

Elward believes the time and care spent on creating his liquor will give them a longer shelf life.

Elward, claims you get a nice smell and no harmful effects. There is no nicotine or tobacco extracts. Just the taste.

Everyone thinks drinking tobacco is like drinking an ashtray but it's good, it gives you a little relief.

A first sniff of the vodka provides a thick musty aroma, rich almost woody notes that speak of leather armchairs, cigars, and rolling papers.

Elward is always thinking about new flavors and might make a tobacco whisky or a Cuban cigar because there is a big Spanish and Cuban population who drink and smoke.

If you’re going to drink vodka and like the taste of tobacco - nicotine free Ivanabitch might be the way to go.

Is this like killing two birds with one stone? 

When making e-juice you want to use the best ingredients available. If you use artificial flavors, well...it's going to taste artificial. I relate making e-juice to cooking and baking because the end product is all about taste and because cooking and baking is something that I am experienced in. When I find a recipe that I want to prepare I may add this and delete that to my personal taste and also to make it my own. If I were to make cookies for instance, I would use the best quality ingredients possible, for example I would use butter rather than margarine, (who wouldn't). I would also use real sugar instead of artificial sweetener, real whole eggs instead powdered eggs, and you get the picture. I figure if I am going to go through the effort, I want it to taste the best even if I only eat 1, and I love it when people tell me that it's the best cookie they ever had! See how this relates to e-juice? I know everyone has different opinions on what tastes good or bad and thank goodness or it would be rather boring. If an e-juice is called apple pie customers are thinking of an apple pie their grandmother or mother made from scratch or just a great tasting pie and sadly they are disappointed when they get an e-juice that tastes nothing like the real thing. That is why you want to use the most natural flavors available instead of artificial flavors. True flavor extracts are made from real food and MadTown Vapor does the best to use them. Flavor concentrates are mixed with a PG base and have artificial flavoring. There are some flavors everyone loves and there is no getting around it, you have to use an artificial flavoring. If it is a good quality flavor you can tell the difference.

I had a call yesterday asking if we use dactyl a flavor used to create a butter taste known to cause popcorn lung. I assured him that we do NOT use it in our e-juice. Remember when there was that big controversy over the microwave popcorn that contained butter flavoring? Pretty scary stuff. We don't use any FD&C or blue 1.either.

When you are judging an e-juice please don't judge after just brushing your teeth or chewing gum. This affects the taste greatly. There are some e-juices out there that are pretty outlandish. I couldn't believe it when I read that a vendor had an e-juice that was called jalapeno! Now come on.... my husband loves jalapeno's and the hotter the better but I somehow can't imagine him vaping it. Then again, each his own. Different smokes for different folks. We are in the process of perfecting some really great e-juices so please check in often as we will be adding them real soon.

Should you steep or not steep? This is really a difficult question we get asked every day. To be honest, I am always so eager to try a new juice so I try it right after it is made and then again after a few days. I can taste the flavors really come through after a couple of days and I tell people to try it as soon as they get it and then again a few days later and judge by that. By the time you receive your e-juice it has already had a few days to steep.The menthol or ice flavors need a couple of days to steep because they are really strong right away and they need to mellow out a bit. This is all just my opinion and I would like to hear from others on the subject.
